In August 2022, YOASOBI made their first appearance and performed at major summer festivals in Japan. In December of the same year, they performed at their first overseas festival in Jakarta and Mailla, which garnered significant attention. Starting in April 2023, YOASOBI releases the opening theme song "Idol" for the TV anime series "Oshi no Ko" (based on the manga series written by Akasaka Aka and illustrated by Yokoyari Mengo).







In producing the song, the original author Akasaka Aka wrote a novel specifically for this project. The song features the 9-member anime song dance performer group "REAL AKIBA BOYZ" providing the calls, inspired by Akihabara, the holy land of idols. The sound of the song is packed with first-time attempts, including a gospel-style chorus with an impressive intro featuring a foreign chorus team that also participated in the English version of YOASOBI‘s songs.
